You can use Intel Power Gadget to monitor your CPU energy use, speed, and temperature. This is helpful when you're testing your overclock settings or CPU P-States and C-States.
But attempting to install it on my X99 system with an Intel 5930K CPU resulted in the error "Intel® Power Gadget only supports 2nd generation Intel® Core™ processors and later."
After some of my readers commented that you could install with Pacifist I decided to give it a try.
First, I used the application Pacifist to extract the whole Power Gadget installer to the folder
I then ran moved the extracted files to the following directories:
Power Gadget Folder containing the application, PowerLog and Uninstaller to ~/Applications
EnergyDriver.kextto my /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.12 folder
IntelPowerGadget.frameworkto my /Library/Frameworks folder
I then rebooted and the application worked!
